Minelab Metal Detectors / GP Extreme

The GP Extreme combines stable and effective ground balancing with Extreme Depth and Extreme Sensitivity.

Features:
	DVT technology giving greater depth than ever before;
	Selectable Tx (transmit) modes for different soil conditions;
	Selectable Rx (receive) modes for increased sensitivity and less susceptibility to interference;
	Adjustable signal response for target tone variation;
	Volume limiting for user's own preference; and
	New GP extreme 1100 and GP extreme 1800 coils which have been specifically designed to take advantage of the new DVT.

Dual Voltage Technology (DVT)

Dual Voltage Technology (DVT), the foundation of the GP Extreme's advantage, refers to the changes in voltage used to create the electo-magnetic field transmitted into the ground by the detector's coil.

When using a detector, strong magnetic fields are transmitted which can "magnetically saturate" the ground adversely affecting the performance of the detector.

Minelab have found, that by applying two different voltages to the transmit coil it cancels signals caused by magnetic saturation.

This canceling of signals significantly improves the detector's ability to balance out mineralisation, enabling it to produce incredible increases in depth and sensitivity as shown in the diagram below.
